In this day and age of modern technology, which connects the world, it’s hard to believe that there can still be languages left waiting for God’s Word to be translated. But did you know out of the 7,000+ languages in the world, that over 2,000 languages have none of God’s Word? Not a book, not a chapter, not even a single verse no word of God’s message has been translated in these languages. Below is a map showing the various regions of the world and the number of languages in each region that are still waiting.

We will be serving in the Pacific region, in Solomon Islands, a country with approximately 70 language groups. The Solomons account for 20 of the Pacific’s 415 waiting languages.

But there is exciting news! Across those 7,000 global languages there are over 2,600 translation ministries that are in process. And in the Solomons, there are 15+ active translation ministries!

We are so eager to get to the Solomons and to get to work helping SITAG and its various partner ministries as they engage in translating God’s Word into the heart languages of the waiting people groups! As the Operations Manager, Josh will be helping the teams in a variety of ways: power supply, water management, network systems, office administration, building maintenance, team management, and satellite & radio communications.

Please pray that Solomon Islands is able to safely open their borders soon. In fact, please pray for all the countries that are currently closed due to the current pandemic. Pray that God leads the way for His Word to be translated into every language still waiting!
