#sigosherts #mondayfunday

We got out of quarantine only 3 days ago, but between adjusting to the heat (our quarantine hotel was air conditioned), unpacking a few things (we will be on our way to a remote island village in a week and a half, for language learning immersion style), meeting all the staff and SITAG members, orientation classes, and Aaron’s birthday, it feels like it’s been a week since we got out of quarantine. Our days are packed full, and we are so happy to be here and out and about in Honiara. The heat is really zapping our energy. I am collapsing into bed at night, thanking the Great God Almighty for a fan to sleep under. I am constantly on the kids to be drinking water.

Another day of quarantine.
Last morning in quarantine. We got out around 3 in the afternoon.
The kids got to attend a birthday party of a new friend.
Making new friends.
Welcomed to the Solomon Islands and to SITAG with style.
Sunday, after church, new friends took us to a beach. We stopped and picked up some fresh cooked food at a road side market on the way. It was a wonderful afternoon.
AJ’s birthday. He wanted to buy and cook a fish so bad!
Right before one of our orientation classes, we snagged a picture , trying to catch the beautiful ocean in the background.
