We had an amazing day on Sunday! Our whole family was invited to a wedding ceremony.
We found ourselves there early, for a number of reasons. First, Aaron volunteered to help with the other young men (youth) to help set up the sound and chairs for the event. Second, the SITAG truck was needed to take some equipment out. This left me and the kids to have some fun playing a little game they just learned, while we waited for the celebration to begin. (See video below.)
Abigail was quick to find a friend on the food crew and offer to help serve. She really enjoyed the camaraderie, and serving along side her friends. The food was traditional Motu (earth oven).
During the celebration there were many dance performances and plenty of music. This first video is of a group of young men playing the pan pipes and dancing. It was just soooooo cool!!!!
Then the ladies performed.
It was really neat to celebrate with the two families of the bride and groom. It was also really neat to see some cultural dances, music, and customs of the Solomon Islands ๐ธ๐ง
