These past 3 weeks whizzed by! I can’t believe it is the middle of November already.

Asher is growing up so fast!

Asher is getting bigger and bigger every day. He is the baby of the family, and so of course I still pick him up and snuggle him! But it is getting harder and harder every day. The above picture was taken because I asked him, “What if this is the last time I ever pick you up? We should take a picture!”

Group photo of youth that went on the Mercy Ship tour

Someone else took this photo, and I finally got a copy of it. Every kid in this photo is a MK (missionary kid), and they all can relate to one another. Every two weeks they all gather together for a fun Saturday to connect and catch up. I am so thankful for the friends my kids have, both MKs and Solomon Islanders. I am so proud of my kids and how they engage with other kids and push themselves outside their comfort zones.

I was able to go to a “Young Women’s” retreat two weekends ago. While I don’t think I technically fit the age requirement😬, I have been assured on multiple occasions that I am more than welcome. 🥰 We had a lot of fun playing, cooking, eating, and studying our Bible together! It was a wonderful weekend.

Picture taken after a big game of Net Ball. I decided to opt out of the group photo because my face was the only one the color of a tomato 🍅, boy was I hot! 🥵

I love skirts! I gifted this one to Tali, who I knew would rock it! 😍🤩😎
In the Motu cook house

This past week I was able to actually do a Motu! I’ve been to them and seen them done, but never participated fully in one.

Me pulling out the kumara from the hot stones

It took us 4 hours to prepare all the food and to arrange the motu (get the fire going and the stones hearing up). Then the food cooked for 2.5 hours. I think our fire was really hot, because some of our food was over cooked, but at least the fish was perfect! I’m going to get the hang of this!

A group of 9 kids (and 4 teens, not pictured) waiting to go in to the Kastom Stori production

Also last week, we had the chance to attend a Kastom Stori production by Dream Cast Theatre. What a treat! The group preformed 5 different custom stories (kind of like legends) that are original to the Solomon Islands 🇸🇧. The whole theater was decorated like a jungle (or “the bush”, as they call it here).

Anna with her friend, very excited for the show to start.

The moms and Abigail and Asher

The stories were so great! We all really liked it. The last one was particularly good. It was about a giant and two men who escape getting eaten. It was so funny. I am so glad we were able to attend.
